I keep forgetting to enter my books after I finish them. I haven't been reading as much lately as usual because I've been crocheting like mad, but I have finished several books since the last time I updated. Because it's been so long since I read some of them, though, this is mostly just a list rather than a big book report. So there, elementary school teachers!
6: Evans to Betsy by Rhys Bowen
Not my very favorite of Bowen's books, but still quite good.
7: Aunt Dimity and the Duke by Nancy Atherton
This is my favorite so far of the three Aunt Dimity books I've read. It was fabulous. If I had a daughter, I'd want her to be like Nell.
8: Aunt Dimity's Good Deed by Nancy Atherton
This was a fun read. It was good to see characters from the first Aunt Dimity book again. And I heart Reginald, Bertie, and now Geraldine.
9: The Quiche of Death by MC Beaton
Oh dear god, did nobody proofread this thing?! The main character's name changes from Agatha Raisin to Angela Raisin and back in one paragraph, and becomes Angela again later in the book. Several other names change back and forth, too. Maddening. Other than that, though, I absolutely loved it. It was a fun mystery with a character who shows incredible growth and a charming little village where I'd love to own a home.
10: The Android's Dream by John Scalzi
Oh, sweet shrieking Jesus, this is one of the best books I've ever read. I absolutely love Scalzi, whose sense of humor shines throughout the story. I was truly left breathless in several places as a result of hysterical laughing fits. "And you, sir, are not the boss of me." Oh god. Like Old Man's War and The Ghost Brigades, this book is a delight from start to finish. It's smart and absolutely hilarious, and there's something in it for everyone. Srsly. Read this book.
I'm just pages away from finishing Rhys Bowen's Evan Only Knows, and then I think I'll be moving on to Sarah Monette's The Virtu. I've been looking forward to it since I finished Melusine, which I absolutely loved. I developed quite the book-crush on Mildmay the Fox and am very much looking forward to seeing him again.
