When the alarm went off this morning I was in the middle of a dream. It was a weird SF/F sort of thing, and for most of it I was with a group of soldiers, dressed in the same uniform that they wore. I don't remember much of it, but there was a part where we were in a mountainy area with lots of ice and snow. We all jumped out of our Army truck (that's what it was officially called in the dream) with shovels and were supposed to move clumps of disgusting grey slush from one place to another. We all scooped up a shovel full of slush and started walking toward a sidewalk leading up to a building, apparently with the intention of making a pile o' slush beside the sidewalk, until I noticed a dog. "Look, I said. "A puppy! And there are a pile of them napping right there. Oh, we can't put our slush down here. We have to let sleeping dogs lie." And then I woke up.
Part of me wonders what that was about. The rest of me knows that it wasn't deep or symbolic. I was just being lazy and trying to get out of shoveling.
