Home Sweet Home.

So, Valentine's Day? I heart it, even in my current weird situation. Aaaaand, I just got some fantastic Valentine's Day love a few minutes ago in the form of an approved application for the apartment I want, so yay for that! I move in on the first, and I am incredibly excited.

It's a one-bedroom apartment in the area of Minneapolis that I've wanted to live in since I arrived here. It's affordable, clean, relatively large, and not unattractive. It's very near the bus line, so work and shopping and things will be easy, and I'll still be on the same bus to work as my morning bus buddy, who is an absolute riot, so yay for that, too. Even more yayful is the fact that it will take about an hour off of my morning commute, and 45 minutes off the return trip.

Ooh, ooh, and! I will bring my new fluffy babies home with me on the first, too! I've mentioned to some of you that I've adopted a cat named Linus, and I think I also told a few people that I'd planned to adopt a buddy for him. I did! The buddy's name right now is Oreo, but I'm going to change it. I was thinking maybe Charlie, in keeping with the Peanuts theme I seem to have going on, and then I thought about Elvis. I've pretty much decided on Jeffrey, though. Every time I think of the name I think of Jeff from "Coupling," and that makes me happy. I have pictures. Now it's just a matter of retrieving them from the camera and/or scanning them and getting them into a showable location. *squee*

Also ooh, ooh, and! I have bought furniture! I scored a bed and two spiffy bedside tables for cheeeeep. Yay, Ikea! And I found the most spectacular blue footstools with foldy-undery legs at Target. Yay for the footstools, and yay for birdofparadox who told me about them! I got a superspiffy round one, too, with a removable lid. I can store things in it! I am ridiculously excited about my ability to store things in my superspiffy new footstool. I am easily pleased.

Now I just need a lottery win so I can completely furnish the place, and all will be well.

crazy eddie, valentine's day, squee, furniture, apartment, linus, birdofparadox
