Best clue so far in my super spifftastic New York Times crossword puzzle book:

Rock's _____ Vanilli.

I love puzzles.
  • Word puzzles fill me with joy. Crosswords and scrambled word puzzles are my favorites.
  • I love logic puzzles, too. Those glorious grids at the top of the page with the clues written underneath, just waiting for me to ( Read more... )

I heart you.  I've always wanted a userpic saying "My fandom plays with grids" or some such.

Question, that may plummet you into nonproductivity forever - have you heard of Paint By Numbers?  (To test, go here - uses Java.)

Oh, sweet shrieking Jesus, I heart you too. How have I not seen Paint By Numbers before? I will have to be dragged away from my computer, and I will be flappy and stompy when it happens. Oh yes, this will be my new addiction.

I've been doing those since about 1998 or '99.  I've been through three domain changes.

Note to the Tristian lizard-brain - you will never ever ever catch up.  Ever.  So don't try.  Sincerely, the Xtinian lizard-brain.

It is kind of the Xtinian lizard-brain to warn the Tristian lizard-brain. It is also, as I am sure the Xtinian lizard-brain knows, pointless. I will catch up! I will! Muahahahahahaha!

I must not be approaching sudoku correctly. I bought my grandmother a book of the puzzles for Christmas and was stumped when she asked me to explain them to her. I have No Clue whatsoever!

I discovered sudoku through one of the_xtina's links. There is a good explanation there, and this site is a great place to get started because you can check your work as you go along while you get the hang of things. Oh, I am so hooked!

Worse, it's timed.  So every time I play it, I must beat my times.  Which is, at this point, nearly impossible.

That's my thing with Minesweeper. Were you on the FriendBots list when I was in mad Minesweeper competition with my teacher? I was thoroughly obsessed.

I like puzzles, too! I think I like crossword and jigsaw puzzles best. (I can almost never finish a whole crossword on my own, though.) I would very much like to start a jigsaw puzzle, but I don't really have the table space right now. Plus, it has to be in a room that can be shut off from a prowling kitty who would love to jump on it and scatter pieces everywhere.

I like crossword puzzle books because they generally print the answers at the end. I don't often peek when I have no idea what the word is, but I do sometimes peek to confirm my guess. Of course, there are times when I am completely stumped and when that happens I will look. I hate feeling as though I've cheated, but I hate even more the feeling that goes with leaving a puzzle unfinished.

I have a fantabulous new jigsaw puzzle that I'm very much looking forward to. I'm waiting until I'm in my new apartment to open it, though, as there are two cats where I am right now, and they have made it clear to me that they have claimed all of the flat surfaces. ;)

I love puzzles too! Of all types. I haven't tried sudoku yet but it has been explained to me and it sounds deliciously addictive. I think the reason I like cross-stitch so much is because it is essentially a big puzzle with pretty colors.

I think that my enjoyment of puzzles probably has something to do with my enjoyment of crocheting. If I make these stitches in this order I will create this object. And then I will have a pretty fluffy thing that I can use and yay!

Sudoku is remarkably addictive. You know you want to try it. So go to Web Sudoku and get hooked give it a shot. :)

I have no patience for jigsaw and crosswords, but I've been hooked on websudoku.com this week, and I love logic puzzles. I also used to have a book with a sort of sudoku/crossword hybrid. There weren't clues; you just had to figure out how to fill in the words.
