update from philly
so yeah. in philly now. started work on monday. so far, very cool group of people. however, the shop is in an old arsenal factory. making it very very hot. because it is a brick building and we got the morning and afternoon sun. plus, there are alot of windows up high, making a nice green house affect. in the winter we get to look forward to it being very freaking cold. but, right now it often reaches 100 degrees in there. especially because we have had a couple of the hottest days of the year the past 2 days. i am wishing i owned more shorts.
but yeah. so far work is good. reduntant for now. installing a total of 4 coffin locks on each platform for a deck. there are 50 platforms. not counting the ones we still have to make. i am so sore. my legs are the worst. from having to crouch so much to install the coffin locks. it's like doing squats all day. my hand is starting to get a callouse from holding a screw gun so often too. that was quick. heh.
still don't have an apartment. i have an appointment tomorrow to look at a place. it sounds really nice from the description. and the pictures weren't bad. hopefully i will really like it, becuase the price isn't bad either. and hopefully no one else is looking at it right now. ::crosses fingers:: i won't be able to move into anything right away, but just knowing i have a place is some peace of mind.
other than that...yeah. not much going on. cool thing...we have a shop cat. well, really a paint deck cat. he use to be a wild cat in the area and then the painters started leaving food out for it. next thing you know it let's them put a collar in him and there's cat toys and a litter box in the paint area. his name is squee.
