full

today was full, my stomach is full, and my heart is full.

i am so thankful for the beautiful people God has put in my life. real honest friends who strive with me...sometimes i feel like we are wading up river against a strong current with weights on our feet....but we hold each other firmly to keep from slipping back or giving into the force of our environment. i am encouraged. sometimes God just allows us a deeper glimpse into His reality - one where people are deeply and passionately loved. one where no sacrifice is to great when the reward is redemption. these are the moments when i feel raised high. w242 had their vision meeting tonight. as a visual a huge mural was created on one wall out of 1200 sheets of 81/2 x 11 papers covered with dots. when all the pages were assembled together they showed the charlotte skyline. there were about 1.2 millions dots to create the photograph -- the approximate population of the metrolina area. approximately 1000 dots per page. bruce said that the goal is for242 to impact 1000 people next year.....approx. one page of the 1200 taped to the wall. so much, so many...reminds me of the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few verse. but what a beautiful passionate vision and when the goal is to be excruciatingly good at loving the community around us, it seems soooo worth it even when the odds are near impossible...bruce said christianity was always intended to be exponential and not addition. its not the task which brings me to tears, but the sincerity of the hearts gathered tonight to realize that we have done nothing to deserve this love, and we can do everything to share it with others.

so, for reflection and introspection the following is my suggested playlist for Monday morning:

How to Save a Life - The Fray
Run - Snow Patrol
Mad Mission - Patty Griffin
Fix You - Cold Play
All These Things - The Killers
Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol
Hurt - Johnny Cash
You're Here - Sixpence None the Richer
One Thing - Finger Eleven
Forty - U2

Praise!

god, christianity, growth, thankful
