[I don't want a lot for Christmas...]

It's that time of year that I make mix cds for my brother. Last year I made him a covers mix, and a mix about California (where he had moved). This year, the mixes are of bands I've seen in 2008. One is local bands, and one is non-local bands, and I picked songs I thought he might like (so not necessarily my favorite song by the artist...but they often were). In a year where I will have gone to 75 shows (the last one is on 12/31), picking only 36 bands to make my brother listen to is hard. Of the local bands, some tour nationally, some stick closer to home, and one has gone on hiatus (much to my dismay), but I love that I can count them all as part of my local scene. Of the national bands, well, you can see my bandom tendencies, but there are plenty of other bands too. Zip files will stay up until they expire, and you can click on the images for full-size. These bands range from Alt Country (American Aquarium) to Pop Noir (The Old Ceremony) and Punk Rock (Red Collar), with a lot of Indie and Rock inbetween.
