Went to Tahoe and had a fantastic time with Darren and his family. A much needed escape from work and school stress. Went snow shoeing for the first time ever, and it was incredibly fun. Was easy to get started, and I hardly noticed that it was a work out until an hour and fifteen minutes later when we took off the snow shoes and I felt like I had been on a boat with the way that my legs were wobbling. I also managed to get in a walk on both evenings. It was beautiful, the air smelled so clean and good. The snow was neat as well... being from California we don't see a lot of that around here unless we travel to the nearest mountain range.
I ate like crap, Darren's family had all kinds of snacks out and about. :( Luckily I didn't go overboard on the carb count and my sugars stayed low-mid range the whole time we were there. But calorie wise, i felt like I did myself a real doosy. I am glad to be back home where I can control what goes into my face a bit better.
I weighed myself this morning and I am back under 290. 288.9 to be exact. It's not a big weight loss (I have been waivering between 291-290 for the last week) but it feels good to see the number go down. One of the things that I am resolved to do is stop weighing myself so frequently. I don't need to do that to myself and the stress is just going to make me sick.
While we were in Tahoe we heard the news about Japan, and our hearts just broke for all of those people. Really put things into perspective for me, seeing the tragedy unfold on the news. So much destruction and heart break. I am so sad for all those who have lost so much, and feel so blessed to have the life that I have.
For today, I don't know what lies ahead. My friend and I were supposed to hook up and hang out, but I haven't heard from her yet. I am thinking that I might just hit the gym, come home and clearn the apartment up a bit. Get ready for my next work week. Must resist the urge to curl up and take a nap. That just wouldn't be good for anybody!
