Boston Weather
People say it rains a lot in Seattle. I have never been there, but I know that Boston must be putting up a good fight for second place. Our expected forecast for the next few days is rain and snow.
Now I am not cool enough to have my own car. I walk to the T and ride it into work. Getting around Boston in the rain and snow is an art form.
1. Wind. Wind is a huge issue. Usually when it is rainy people use umbrellas. They don't work here!! The best is after a few good windy rainy days they are skeletons of dead umbrellas scattered about the sidewalks.
2. Puddles. This is a big problem when you have to walk in the city and your short. For my 4 years here in the city I have just been rolling my pants up and walking way around the puddles.
NOT ANYMORE!!
Now let me remind you that I am not a trendy or up in fashion sort of girl. Come on now I teach kindergarten. Anyway, rain boots are all the style these days. Everyone wears them. I said there is no way. Then the other day at Filene's I was over taken by them. They were bright, rainbow striped, and best of all on sale. I have had them now for about a month and let me tell you rain has never been better. I just walk right through puddles like it's my job.
So ya I am excited about our up coming weather, and if it gives us a day off from school well that's great too!!
