love, to define would be impossible
To define the word love would be impossible. So many things attribute to love that it is not possible to name them all. But I wrote this poem a long time ago. It has been a work in progress for about a year now. This may seem to be quite a long time, but to fully finish a poem takes a substantial amount of time. I don't like letting other people read my poetry because I never thought that I was good at it. But this one really hit me and I tried so hard to make it perfect. But I now realize that the topic itself can never be perfect, so there's no point in trying to perfect something that truly isn't. It's just an oxymoron. I realize that no one will probably read this and at least that alone makes me feel better. So here I go. Releasing a finished product onto the airwaves, or whatever it's called of the internet.
I Am Love
I am what you make me
Why all the angels flew
Whatever you want me to become
I’ll prove my strength to you
I can lie and disagree
I can break you, I can hate you
But if I am truly around
I am a rope that cannot be unbound
I know what guys truly fear
What all women hold dear
Commitment is its name
Hearts entwined forever is its game
I hold a young girls dream in my hands
Dropping her heart slowly like sand
Twisting her hopes until she falls
Then lifting her past her shattered walls
I am the lump in your throat
I am the one who helps you float
I am the reason your hand trembles
I am why things always resemble
Everything you’ve ever wanted
Leaving out what you’ve never had
But I know you’ll miss me as soon as I’m gone
Leaving you breathless, but making you strong
So that's it. Nothing special just something to leave me breathless, while making me just as strong at the same time. Anything that can do that is more powerful than I've ever imagined, and could ever hope for. If something such as this could ever be found by anyone, they are truly blessed. There are not many things in this world that can make you weak, but at the same time entice you to want more. Love is everything that you hunger for. Companionship, trusting, understanding, faithfulness. I have a key chain that states a quote from the bible. It is my favorite because it quotes on love, what everyone should hope for, and search for everyday. 1 Corinthians 13:4 "Love is patient and kind... it always protects, trusts, and hopes... love never fails." When people first hear this quote, they say, not always. But it is. If you're first instinct was, not always, then you haven't found love yet. Not many people do until they become older. But when it is found, it is something to be cherished and protected, and above all, pure...
