alias: Yeah, I lost interest in the show after the writers started pulling unbelievable (in a bad way) plot twists out of their ASCIIs. *g* I think that I got more amusement out of the gag reels and assorted parodies than from the actual show.
benjamin mckenzie: Mm, pretty Ryan Atwood on The OC, although not as interesting

I believe the British title is something like "Animal Attraction". I haven't read the book actually, *adds to summer reading list*. I bought "Kate and Leopold" some years ago because it was in the sale and simply had Hugh in it.
X3 kinda disappointed me, perhaps because I'd seen most of the good scenes on the internet beforehand and I went along expecting there to be more of those in the film- witty lines, good interactions between the characters- and... there wasn't. The rest was all "grrrr, we're all going to kill each other!!" I would have liked a bit more plot development, really, and they could have done it- it was barely 2 hours long.
By the "shocker" ending, do you mean the bit after the credits? If so, I hadn't guessed that, I was too busy fuming over how they'd so easily got rid of so many characters, like that *clicks fingers*.
As to X-Men fanfiction and canon.... Well, that's a little hard. You see, there's the comic books, then there's the original cartoon, the recent cartoon, and the films. Each are different. I'm not an expert really, especially not when it comes to the millions of X-Men comics out there, but I'll give it a go.
Comics: in the comic world, Wolvie's had just about every girl out there, including (if I'm correct) Rogue, Storm, and Mystique. But Jean was the one he had a real thing for; he went a bit mad at Jean & Scott's wedding, from what I understand. Then again, I've also seen comics with Logan & Rogue really going for it- there's one where he says something like "is it craziness to say we always had a thing for each other?" So basically, from what I gather, comic-verse you can ship whoever you want.
Original Cartoon: I watched this as a girl and from what I can remember there was Jean/Scott and then the love triangle between Logan/Rogue/Gambit(Remy Le Beau). This is actually what I remember the cartoon most fondly for (that and the theme tune ^_^) because I loved- even as a kid- the dynamics of this relationship. I think it also exists to an extent in the comics (there was a big whole Rogue/Gambit thing in the comics, but Gambit's a bit of a shady character (he was a thief) and there was a big misunderstanding and Rogue/the X-Men left him in Alaska as punishment, I think. But I'm not sure how much Wolverine came into this in the comics). And so that's why you'll see a lot of X-Men fics with Remy or Gambit in them.
The other cartoon: meh, doesn't count really. Everyone was young teenagers going to college. I didn't really get on with it that much.
Films: well, the biggest shipping from the films is Marie/Logan / Rogue/Wolvie. (Me included.) But it's all just what the fans say when it comes to the films and again, you'll get all kinds of pairings. (So really, it's all wishful thinking. ^_^) I think there'll be more Ororo(Storm)/Logan popping up after the third film.
Regarding Wolvie/Rogue- apparently there's a book of the first movie, which I haven't read, but some of the earlier fanfictions had chunks of the scenes and I think the book implies the Wolvie/Rogue relationship more than the film. For example, when Rogue dies, I think in the book Logan kisses her forehead/cheek and that's when her power kicks in and brings her back to life. Fans weren't happy with the Rogue/Bobby relationship in X2, so I don't know what they're likely to be like after X3. I mean, yes, there's the whole Bobby/Kitty/Rogue thing, but Rogue took the cure for Bobby (even if she said she was taking it for herself, I don't really believe that), which is so wrong because she's always portrayed as a real fighter. (And yes, I know I'm being a bit harsh because she can't touch anyone. Sue me.)
