Re-ment clothing for dollies
An impulse buy at Jusco gives mixed results...
(I can't test it on Yo-SD, Pipos, teenie Gem, etc., etc, but it might maybe possibly fit them too? ^^; ) - probably doesn't fit 30cm tinies, Sera is 23cm tall.
Here's what I bought:
The front of the box(lol you can see clearly the price tag and where I bought it ^^; ). Next to it is the card that came inside the box.
The box only contains one set of clothing and one card, no sweets (luckily? XD )
The back of the box and the back of the card:
I ended up getting the yukata, so that's the picture on the card.
And this is where I'm sorely, sorely, sorely, sorely, sorely
.... really broken-heartedly dissappointed.
The edges are left raw, and you can see one lonely thread unravelling already ^^; The fabric is cotton, but I really have no idea how many times you can use it before it unravels completely. I'm not sure that it's worth the effort to finish the edges myself; I might as well make a whole new yukata (it's easier ^^; )
Also, the ribbon is kinda bright.
But hey, at RM25 with no shipping fees... I guess it might be worth it for a "use-once", disposable outfit?
And on Sera (standing):
Sera: Wait, I saw a prettier yukata on the computer.... I want the prettier one instead... :o
And sitting:
(omg she looks downright dejected ^^;;; )
I ran out of rubberbands and ended up using white yarn to tie her ohashori. This is when I learn that the ohashori is VITAL to wearing a yukata gracefully. The yukata gaped every which way until I gave her the waist fold (initially to shorten the yukata XD; )
....And the little princess tried to kick me every which way, until I learnt to turn her leg joints backwards, so please pardon the clumsy kitsuke.
And the back:
I guess it's a little bit too small for her, you can see the velcro very clearly...
So altogether, not really a good outfit, but... again, RM25 with no shipping fees... I'm inclined to try another pack and see what I get XD;
For those wanting to try it, Sera's waist is 8.5cm. Also, I believe the white yarn and folding over the yukata made her waist much thicker, so I'm hoping that the other outfits might fit her better.
If you try them, I'd like to hear about the results too. I think my Jusco only had three boxes, and I already bought one ^^;
Edit ambrosia_kisses reports that these don't fit DoB. It's possible I got lucky with the yukata D: I'll post again when I get another pack...
update 26th Sept 2009 : I went back and tried another 6 packs, and one from another series (but also marked as petit ...something XD; THEY FIT! Yatta! I haven't decided what to do about the raw edges yet. And I have duplicate outfits now, booo.... :p (post to come soon)
