So, I was nominated by
milady_dragon to post three positive things a day for five days. As I've already done this on Facebook and most of my friends here are friends there, too, I'm not going to nominate anyone else, but I'm still doing this, because there definitely cannot be too much positivity in the world!
So, here goes:
1. My cats are finally getting along! Or, well, they're not actively trying to kill each other, anyway.
Last October I got a new kitten, a rescue, and at first everything was fine, but when those pesky teenage hormones began acting up, my two older boys started getting aggressive towards him. I had him neutered, but it continued. It wasn't so bad with the younger of the two; he and the baby mostly play-fought even from the start, and now they seem fine. My oldest, though, Ossian, is very sensitive, and he actually became ill from the stress.
For the past few months I've been trying to activate the little one (who is now over a year and not at all little any longer), and Ossian has been on a couple of short holidays at his grandmummy's (my mum lives five minutes from here), and it's worked, but only short term. Then, a couple of nights ago, they fought most of the night and must have arrived at some sort of truce, because the next day, Ossian was back to normal - eating, cuddling, chasing bits of string - and while he still hisses at Dante now and then, he doesn't seem very upset, and Dante actually listens and leaves him alone.
So, given that I was worried I'd have to re-home one of them, that's actually the most positive thing that's happened in quite some time!
2. My favourite time of year has started. September - December is when I feel great and, apparently, this year is no exception. I sleep better, I have more energy, I get things done and things just seem easier all around. And I've started working on my Christmas cards :-D
3. Sweden's general election is today (September 14), but I pre-voted last week, and seeing the queues to the polling stations on TV today, I am so, so happy I did! Now I just hope one of tomorrow's positive things will be that the right guys won.
