I have been very productive the past couple of days. It's good, because for a little while, I was falling into a slump (been working a lot, the weather is cooling down, stress from money and things, etc.), so it feels nice to be able to get the things done that need to be.
I have been running errands between going to work, working, and getting off work. Basically, yes, my life is work lately. I look forward to my days off so much, that I plan during the week what I will do with my weekend. Luckily, I freed up most of my time this weekend by getting most of the important things out of the way. I was finally able to usemy food stamps for this month on an elaborate meal. Since being broke the past two months, I had to stop being vegetarian because I wasn't prepared well enough for meals, so I had not been eating well, and almost not at all, except at work & it's hard to be picky when it's free food. So, I am back to eating poultry (at least for now, until I get myself back on my feet), and so I picked up some things to make a semi-big turkey dinner for tonight. I time everything wrong though, and dinner won't be done until 10 at least, so I will probably just bring it for lunch tomorrow. But, yay to food! And yay to cooking!
Speaking of cooking & work, I had my meeting with my bosses yesterday. Things couldn't have gone better! I was a bit nervous to sit them down and ask for a raise, because I had never done that before. I asked how my progress was going, and asked how well they think I have grown in this past year. Both my chefs told me how amazing I am, and how basically I am one of their best prep cooks, and how great that is seeing as I am the only one in the kitchen who didn't go to culinary school. They talked about how not only do I multi-task/work fast/do things great, but that it also shows that I love my job, and take it serious, and have a passion for it. We discussed how we all agree that doing a job 110% is the way to go, and how it shows in my work. They seemed thrilled to give me a raise, and so they did! YES FOR RAISES! HOLLA! So, that is very exciting, and now I make a buck more than I did, and in 6 months I may get another one.
To celebrate my raise, I took myself to Target and bought much needed bath things, new black leggings (on sale!), thick tights, pomagranite juice things, and cereal! Of course, I really don't have that raise yet, so I felt a bit of guilt buying stuff. And then I blew a little more money today. Oh money, what is my deal?
I had my first pumpkin milkshake of the season, today. I bought two little pumpkins. I had caramel apple cider this morning. All I want to do is walk through the leaves. My house smells like homemade stuffing and turkey. Yay Autumn!
