I think coffee cups have handles not because you would otherwise drop them, rather because something is needed to grip first thing in the morning that will pull you into the day. Much as a mother's hand is to a little kid on their first day of school, or those black hand straps you get to keep from falling over on some busses, so are coffee cup handles are to me.

This would make more sense if you can see how shitty I look from lack of sleep.
