So, assignment of doom #1 is down, and I am not going to get absolutely stunning marks on it, which is one of the hallmarks of doing it the day before it is due and spending 20 hours straight on it. Oh well. I will be satisfied (not happy) with a pass, I guess. I am such a moron to leave it to the last minute, as I always do. I have a Torts assignment due in 2 weeks. I am determined to at least do half of it by the start of next week.

Okay. Other news in the world of Lauren. I got a postcard of the beautiful NY from
blossyn, who is obviously made of win (COME BACK TO THE INTERNET!!)

Last Saturday night I also attended my David Campbell concert with
_katttttt_and it was awesome. For those of you who are new to my journal, David Campbell is my guilty little obsession. He is relatively unknown in Australia, but is made of win. He is the son of Jimmy Barnes, and has done some of his own original music, has done Dancing with the Stars and the singing show It Takes Two, was the singing voice for Matt Damon in the animated movie Joseph: King of Dreams, and has done a whole bout of musicals. He is now doing swing music (Think Michael Buble, but MORE AWESOME). Anyway - MADE OF WIN. I went with Fern, and about 1200 middle - old aged ladies dragging along their husbands. It was amusing. He has such an awesome stage presence, is hilarious…and has a great rapport with the fans. It was an all round fantastic event. His singing voice in concert is equally as good quality as on his CD’s. I am always impressed.

That Friday before, I spent the morning trailing after a duty lawyer from Legal Aid from about 9 30 - 1pm. I was dressed smartly, something I avoid on pain of death (I am a feral at heart), and was wearing my new witches shoes (the ones with the really pointed toes). I was unaware, until walking, that they really were too big for me. Also because I was running late, I had to basically sprint across the city. Unfortunately, my heels kept popping out of the shoes and subsequently, to keep the shoes on while I was walking, my toes would push forward, and so because the shoes were new, at the top of the shoe, it SKINNED THE TOP OF MY FEET. Seriously. Like, badly skinned. I have 4 wounds near my toes, and the usual at my heels. It looks like I have lesions. I’m sure you wanted to know. And because I am continuously having to walk, they are not healing. I am going through bandaids like there is no tomorrow. It is also incredibly painful to wear closed shoes, due to the some wounds being where the toes/feet bend when you walk, and wearing flip flops hurts as well because the bands are there. So it HURTS.

The point of the day was that I trailed after a lawyer - sat in on his interviews and went to court (mind, this is just magistrates court). But it was fascinating. I learnt a lot - especially that people are FERAL and STUPID. Really, they are.

ALSO IN ONE OF THE COURTS THERE WAS THIS LAWYER WHO LOOKED EXACTLY, AND I MEAN EXACTLY, LIKE ERIC SZMANDA FROM CSI. EXACTLY. I STARED FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES TRYING TO MAKE SURE IT WASN’T REALLY HIM.

And there are a lot of policemen in the courts. I saw so many attractive ones, plus uniforms, that I almost fainted.

On Monday, after handing in the assignment of DOOM, I decided some retail therapy was in order. I did plan on buying clothes, but then spied Doctor Who season 2 complete boxset. And it is fucking expensive. But I deserved it so I bought it. As well as 4 CD’s. And a cute little movie. I am also contemplating buying some computer related items.

Which do you think is better: an external hard drive, or some extra memory for my laptop?

I am currently in contract law, and really should be listening, but this is a 2 hour class and by the end of the first hour, I have completely lost attention.

In other news, my Justin Timberlake tickets have still not arrived, nor has my Stargate season 10 boxset (AND FREE MOUSEPAD). Most displeasing. My Naruto boxset (shut up, I know it’s sad to all of you who aren’t me) arrived today, and I’m due a duplicate Amazon.com delivery because they thought mine had been lost in the mail and sent a replacement…and then mine arrived the next day. This is for a previous order, so I will mail it back to them.

In addition to my SLICED feet, while cutting a bagel yesterday I managed to slice my thumb - right at the joint - and so moving it is also incredibly painful. It just has not been my week, I tell you.

PS - I am sitting in one of the Uni cafés at the moment, because my class doesn’t start for like, 45 minutes and MY INTERNET WILL NOT CONNECT. WHY. WHY DAMN YOU. Also, a few tables in front of me is a very attractive guy. Who reminds me a bit of Sam Winchester. In a shorter, less awesome way.
