God I love to rant...
Yeah so...that whole Live 8 concert shit thing....what the hell man. They were trying to raise fucking AWARENESS. Yes...I am indeed aware that people are starving in Africa.....who isn't? The money spent putting that show together and running it and shit could've been donated to those people...but nooo. Instead they spend a bazillion dollars for this show and for what....awareness? Why not have charged money to actually get in, and then donated that? How many people who watched it or went to it actually give a shit about Africa? Probably none...they probably all wanted to see 8 hours of crappy bands perform to raise awareness. Call now and pledge your awareness, you can never have too much awareness, blah blah blah....yes I am AWARE. The conept behind this whole thing is good...but seriously awareness will not do anything to help these people. Money, as much as it fucks stuff up usually, is what will help these people...but no.....they just want our awareness. I don't think little starving children can eat your awareness.
That's the celebrity way I guess. Like all those barbies who claim they "love animals" so they go out and buy a little rat dog and stuff it in a luis vitton bag wearing 10 pounds of jewelry. The dog probably weighs less than the shit it's owner puts on it. Way to love animals man. All these causes that celebrities put their names on aren't benefitting from these people. They all want to help and stuff.....so why not spend the money that you're gonna drop for a Porche towards the cause that "means so much to you". Honestly, what good is a porche gonna do in the US where there are no autobahns that you can actually use the thing to it's full potential on? Don't get me wrong...I deffinitely would not mind owning a porche...but I'd move to Europe first so I could actually use it. It's so irritating that celebrities find themselves so much better than everyone else, when really, they're below us. If this was a monarchy, they would be the court jesters. They exist purely for the publics entertainment, and if so many people weren't glued to television screens all the time, they would be nothing. They serve us, and yet they're so much "better". Wow.....what has the world come to?
Oh yeah....this is totally irrelevant but that coke commercial with the people signing and shit is annoying too. They totally ripped the lyrics from Flickersticks song Coke.....listen to it.
