Let's discuss spoilers shall we?

Ok, I'm going to not bother with the LJ cut.  Because I'm not going to spoil anything here.  My reply to this is the spoiler.  So if anyone wants to discuss it, come on here.

Is that by the sounds of it, Sybil and Branson get a happy ending. While M/M are potentially left hanging. AGAIN. Seriously, HOW is that fair?! In fact, if I were an S/B shipper I'd almost be pissed at how EASY that's been. NOTHING, and then in the last 2 episodes they get a happy ever after? NOPE. That's not fair.

Yea, that would me piss me off too. I just told someone that out the 3 main couples (Mary/Matthew, S/B and A/B) the one that should NOT get the happy ending is S/B. My god, they've barely suffered at all and there is room for all kinds of new issues for them. And if I have to hear one more Branflake talk about how horrible Branson has been treated, I'm going to scream.

BUT STILL. THEY KISS. And at the very least, they'll know they love each other. It's not that Matthew doesn't WANT to be with her! So yay. I think?

What if the kissing leads to the sex scene? Lavinia might see the kissing and leave, M/M don't realize it and it all comes off. Then Matthew realizes he just had sex while his fiancee was dying. Now THAT would guilt him into trying to break things off with Mary.

Do you know, that did occur to me. It did. That really WOULD make Matthew a bit of an ass, but... Yeah... We can but hope, right?!

Lol it would him an ass, but I believe the fandom would cheer him on for it.

Seems an appropriate icon... *sigh*

I reckon the intent could be there, even if not a sex scene. I mean, lets face it. For them to be even kissing... that must mean the sexual tension has reached breaking point. It HAS to have, or Matthew wouldn't. It's hardly going to be a peck, now, is it... For him even to kiss Mary while he's engaged to Lavinia, things must really be pretty heated.

My only worry really is that it will seem like Matthew is doing this to keep his mind off of Lavinia dying. I really hope that haircut clip is the start of his feelings for Mary coming in loud and clear. Because if JF has had ONE failing (many but the one I hate) is how he's gone out of his way to make us feel sorry for Mary but missed out on several opportunities where Matthew could show easily his feelings for Mary are still there. (Nothing OTT, just a few clear clues).

Another thing I don't like is I hate it when a 3rd party witnesses a kiss I've been wanting. If their kiss is about Lavinia's reaction, that will piss me off too. (Especially if we don't get anything else.)

I think the whole point is that they CAN'T show us Matthew's feelings because so far, HE doesn't realise them! They're buried too deep. We have, however, seen how much he still cares for Mary and there's plenty of hints that he's in denial about actually still loving her.

I think Matthew's love for Mary WILL come out when Violet tells him and we as a viewer will know for certain when he has to go through with marrying Lavinia out of duty.

Hmmm, I think the kiss will be both - about M/M and about Lavinia seeing them. I guess too, do Mary and Matthew KNOW Lavinia caught them?

Hopefully not, at least let them enjoy it! LOL, I betcha Lavinia tells him when she dies. Sigh.

Matthew's guilt between two women: one woman he REALLY loves his and his fiancee who is dying is one thing. But, Robert is kissing a maid he barely knows who's husband I doubt exists while his wife is upstairs DYING OF THE FLU? That must not be how it really is. Please.

TBH, the Sybil/Branson thing really doesn't bother me - except it feels too easy, so I wonder if there's more there...

It's M/M and the "convenient" removal of Lavinia that annoys me! Of all the ways to go! They take the easiest!!!

And no, I don't think it would take a "sex scene" between M/M to guilt Matthew - just the loss of his fiancee would be enough!!

I just reallllly don't want them to go there with M/M - It's wayyyyy too OOC for them!

Really hoping he comes round by the end of the episode! Otherwise when are we going to see their wedding?

If they leave them hanging I'll be so annoyed! It's just getting ridiculous!!!!!! It's been 2 series and over 6 years have passed!!!!!!

I hate the timeline too. That will turn me off couples if it takes too long. And their case, it hurts her being able to have children for them.

Me too, me too, me too!!! That's why I feel like the spoilers can't be the whole thing!!! Maybe Isobel tries to talk him out of it? Maybe some time passes and he realizes he can't live in guilt forever!!!

AS LONG as he gives Mary SOME hope at the end of S2, I'll be happy. But it CANNOT end with her heartbroken, sobbing and alone AGAIN.

(BTW, do you think Carlisle's gone? :/ )

I agree it seems like there must be more to it if they gave this much away. But even if S2 does end like this, I think the Christmas must hopefully it resolve it.

And while I am not a L fan, I much rather watch the death of Carlisle. Couldn't he have witnessed their kiss. It would have given him a heart attack.

I don't want Carlisle to go, actually. Because he's the last remaining threat to M/M, and Matthew asshole Crawley better man up and fight for Mary.

If Mary does end the series in tears, I will laugh. Seriously. Because enough is enough and Fellowes will have gone bonkers.
