Oh is it possible?

I've been rather quiet on LJ.  I can't believe I'm saying this but I feel like I've overdosed on fandoms related to Downton Abbey. Now don't get me wrong, I love reading spoilers and people's analysis of the episodes, but we are only 2 episodes in, and I'm riding on the high of being able to see each week's episode (knock on wood, I can keep doing ( Read more... )

. Doesn't mention Carlisle explicitly -- I'm sure this is way overanalyzing, but maybe Matthew's saying "Hypothetically, I want you to move on." When Mary goes up to him and says "I am engaged to/going to accept Carlisle"...THEN it would be interesting to see his reaction.

I've done that too and agree with you. But unfortunately for the average DA viewer, I don't think they are willing to go to such lengths to study DS's facial expressions like we are (for a variety of reasons for me). We need something less subtle as I'm tired of people expressing views Matthew has moved on. While the anti M/M will always look for the negative, I do remember a few news articles not quite sure where Matthew stood.

(GAH, it'd be like Matthew coming back from the war, and in the next scene, he's engaged to Mary. I mean...yay, but...HOW?! [Also: DA would NEVER DO THIS. :p ] )

No we certainly would not (though Edith was kissing that married guy out of the blue actually but there was a little lead up). But Glee does do this. I remember so excited to hear there would be a Rachel/Puck romance (I had been spoiled) and waited for that episode in S1. What we got was Rachel and Puck immediately making out. Then we had Puck explaining how they got to that point (even Ryan Murphy couldn't jump that extreme without telling us How in the the world) and it was just so fast. It's frustrating and I've learned to just not watch Glee for the couples because there is no romance in it, and I'm much happier because of it. What I do find interesting is probably the best romance/setup for the couple (and at least until this season the healthiest) have been Kurt and Blaine.

Oh Mikala. Yea, I didn't care about her crying but I did like some of the things she said to him. I'm afraid Brandon will probably be stuck with us for awhile because of the stupid Russell connection. I sear Russell must have something on Jeff Probst.

I wouldn't be shocked if Rob did come back. He's made a CAREER out of reality TV. And he loves the attention. Eventually he's going to get bored with domestic life, call up MB and the next thing you will know he'll be the next returning member on the show.

re: The office. Michael, I'm scared to say, was probably one of my least favorite characters. There were times I loved him, but there were times I would get so annoyed with him. My favorite moments of Michael were when he was acting actually competent which shows how rare that was. I also am a big believer that a TV should never run around one character. The writers can survive a popular actor's exit but it will depend on the writing. (Case in point Northern Exposure, Rob Morrow leaving should NOT have ended the series.) Anyway, the episode directly following Michael's exit with Dwight in charge was my favorite for last season. And someone very aptly said the reason it worked so well, is it allowed the ensemble to just be an ensemble. I highly agree.
