Downton Abbey premieres September 18th on iTV. I've been reading that for what seems like years now, when in reality it may just be six weeks. It's frustrating being addicted to a foriegn TV show. That's never happened to me before. While becoming obsessed with a series and loving a couple on that series is nothing new to me, I certainly haven't realized how lucky I have been given they have all aired for my country. (Well, there is Anne of Green Gables miniseries which is Canadian, of course, but I didn't see it until it aired on the Disney channel and by then it was already finished, and even so, there were the books).
Lost, The West Wing, Days of Our Lives, CSI, Chuck, Lois and Clark (Now I'm going really far back) and Law & Order I've been especially lucky that when the episode premiered, I got to see it. Oh, sometimes there are exceptions, Canadians occasionally got to see an episode one day early like with Days of Our Lives. Usually that was for the best because on that show if certain characters didn't appear, I wouldn't watch so this would give me a heads up about it.
But now? We are talking months. MONTHS. I originally said that maybe it would be for the best. If Mary and Matthew do not work out, I will continue to watch the series but my excitement over it will be diminished enough that I can certainly wait until January. Since my DA friends keep telling me that I'm being silly, ridiculous and way too cynical about our ship, then I know I will be going nuts in a couple of weeks.
There are ways to get a hold of the episode early and you better believe I'm gonna try there is no gurantee that can happen. The GOOD news is, I can survive via spoilers. I can actually be fine with getting a run down of the whole episode (Days of Our Lives conditioned me for it) and while I will miss the anticipation of the unknown, the anticipation of the KNOWN can be even more exciting.
Sigh. So less than two weeks to go. Let the countdown begin!
