History:
When Allen was a very young child he was abandoned by his biological parents. He doesn’t remember their faces, he doesn’t remember their names and he doesn’t even remember seeing hide or hair of them at all. The sense is that Allen’s parents bought a child with such an unusually disfigured arm into world and were too disgusted by it to raise him.
Allen’s life up until he was somewhere around seven-years-old was spent as a run-around and menial tasks boy in a circus. He was crude, scruffy, roughed around by the ring-master and quite an unsociable brat. And then he met Mana.
Mana was an eccentric man working as a clown who had not been a member of the circus team for an especially long time. However his dog, somewhere amidst Allen’s chores, had become friends with the boy. When the dog was found dead one day, Mana spoke with Allen for the first time and in Mana’s own way comforted Allen as he grieved for the animal.
From there they travelled away from the circus together and Mana adopted Allen as his son, naming, caring for him and teaching him. Allen’s time spent with Mana transformed him from a discarded child with a well-deserved chip on his shoulder to a well-mannered, kind-natured young gentleman in the making... With one or two less credible talents, but travelling street performers can not always afford to be completely credible.
When Allen was around ten-years-old Mana died under mysterious and suspicious circumstances leaving Allen alone in the world. While he mourned his lost father, his only family, he was visited by the Earl of Millennium who asked him something he could not say no to: “Would you like me to revive Mana Walker~? ♥”
Mana’s soul was returned and placed into a skeletal shell to be puppeted as a weapon by the Earl forever--an Akuma. When Mana realises what has happened he is over-come with rage, attacking Allen and cursing him by slicing his left eye. During this struggle Allen’s deformed left arm--which had been immobile to that day--activated and transformed Allen’s arm into a claw-like weapon which destroyed Mana completely, freeing his trapped soul.
Allen later learnt that he was in possession of a rare substance called Innocence that gives the compatible user the power to combat the Earl’s forces. This information was given to him by a man from an organization called the Black Order, a General named Cross Marian as Allen sat motionless in the aftermath of killing his father. The trauma of this even turned Allen’s hair prematurely white from chestnut brown and permanently scarred his face across his eye on the left hand side.
Cross Marian suggested the boy become an Exorcist for the Black Order and from there he became the General’s apprentice travelling with him for four hellish years until Cross knocked Allen out and ran away separated from Allen in India, leaving him to journey to the Black Order alone.
Allen's life had never normal: it will never be normal.
