I think of this world
And I wonder in silence
Why words are forgotten
And memories undone
Why trees shed their leaves
And the moon turns the sun
I think to myself
Why have we come undone
Dreams are forgotten
Darkness has won
Where children disappear
Outlaws on the run
I wish I could start over
This simple life of mine
To maybe make a difference
Walk up this steep incline
I would gladly start again
In darkness and divine.
They say its called a clean slate
For that I do not know,
I will choose my path slowly
For the sands of time do flow
And I will sit in silence
Never bowing to the rest
I sit back to ponder,
Placing the world underneath me
Blocking out the voices
Let the silence beseech me
A place all alone
Is where I will go
The sun will rise there
For once all I have is hope
Nothing is around me
No hate and no fear
When I open my eyes
The world will be clear
The day will come which we all remember
Darkness its student, fear its teacher
Silence envelop, destructive, divine
Open my eyes, the world can be kind
If only we all had something to hold
Maybe this time, the world will not be so cold
