Missouri'd!

Right now I'm using wireless internet in a Hampton Inn in St. Joesph, Missouri (it's north of Kansas City...why there's a Kansas City here I'll never know). I'm watching an edited version of Pulp Fiction on TV, it's pretty funny. Anyways, things have been laid back so far. We got one of our classic starts by leaving a little after 2PM on Saturday and managed to get to the GA/TN border for the night--when you have two cars following each other and make alot of stops, it takes a little longer to travel, but we're making decent time. Today we drove through Tenessee, and it wasn't too bad at first, just a little weird (if I had to live in a place called Chattanooga, I'd probably hang myself). I knew that once we stopped in TN, I'd never have a desire to step foot in the state again. Sure enough, we stopped a McDonalds that embodied the dysfunctional inbred land of Tennessee that I had conjured in my head. It was awful, and I felt like a needed to take a chemical shower afterwards.

Once we got through to Illionois, it was a lot nicer. Very flat, but pretty. I like Missouri alot too, and I got alot of good pictures of the arch and St. Louis as we drove through the city. Maybe on the way back we can stop there for a bit, it seems like a really neat city from the buildings I could see. We ate dinner at a 50's Style Denny's (there's alot of "50's Style" places in the midwest...) in Mexico, Missouri. I didn't think we'd make to Mexico on this trip, but I guess I can't say that now. They make some damn fine pancakes in Mexico, and I got a penguin mask. I saw alot of billboards for William Woods and that made me happy.

Right now it's an hour earlier here, and tomorrow we get to go back another hour I think. We're supposed to end up in Rapid City, South Dakota tomorrow. Maybe I can get a picture of me biting Lincoln's head in Mt. Rushmore. That'd be Abe-alicious. I'm not too crazy about giant US Presidents, but it might be neat.

MXC just came on, so it doesn't look like I'm going to bed soon. They keep showing Girls Gone Wild commercials, and my mom's reaction is rather entertaining, hehe.

I started writing a story in the car today, I've been planning it all out in my head and jotting things down. I haven't written short stories in a while, and I'm really getting into it.

I hope that all is well with everyone.
