Christmas Break!!!!
I don't have to work for two weeks. It feels lovely! Lindsay is home from DC. She's looking very sophistacated and I think is becoming an "east coast snob!"
She and I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert last night. It was beyond awesome, even if we were sitting in the rafters! Incredible music accompanied by a light show - I was amazed. We stopped at Steak and Shake after for shakes and sandwiches. It was the only place I could think of that was open.
Car woes: I think I'm going to have to just keep my van and have some work done on it. I hate the idea, but I hate more paying $250/month for 4-5 years on a vehicle that's as old as the one that was totaled. Which, because of the bankruptcy, is where I'm at. I can't get financed on a new car through a dealer because the interest rate would be 20.9%, making my payments way too high. I got turned down at the credit union, so I'm left with "buy here, pay here" lots. I decided to put some money into making the van safer to drive and saving the money that I would have used for a payment. I'm sure it's a more sound decision. It's just that the van is so, well, ghetto! But, as my sister kindly points out, I'm in this mess because of poor financial decisions I've made. However, if that guy hadn't run into me, I'd still be driving my Honda . . .
