buzzed.
i just got back from one of the best parties ever.
it was at 100 memorial drive, the same place i went last year for the fourth of july. this place is SWANK. the guy's apartment i went to last year to watch the fireworks was gorgeous, but tonight dave's friend celebrated his 25th birthday in the skyroom of the building. it was an indoor-outdoor penthouse with a breathtaking view of the charles.
i was a little nervous about going because i didn't know anyone except dave (and his friend jonathan, who i literally met in the car on the way over), but everyone was super nice and i found that people were pretty open to having random conversations with me. it was like canada--that's how nice everyone was.
i smoked my first cigarette. it was weird. i didn't like it. but i'm glad i tried one.
and i got pretty wasted, so i don't remember a lot of the night, but i think i might have flirted with a gay guy? in front of max? or something?
i tried sleeping at max's after the party but i was so dehydrated that i couldn't fall asleep. so now i'm back in my dorm room trying to ignore my headache and impending hangover...which is actually no longer impending since my head just felt like it was going to fall off when my mail client chimed just now.
all in all, what could have been a really boring night turned out to be a pretty spectacular one. i love when that happens.
and i love listening to the sound of the rain. usually rain depresses me but there's something so romantic about listening to rain at seven in the morning in april. and strategizing facebook scrabble moves. with a hangover.
this whole entry has pretty much been about things that i'm happy about, but i'm going to make a list anyway.
1. hanging out with dave and meeting jonathan and julian and all the other cool people i met
2. stealing two beers and getting away with it
3. not feeling awkward at a party, for once
4. max showing up
5. possibly having sushi later with max and dan
6. listening to the pitter-patter of the rain as i write this
7. oh! how could i forget? getting a 173 on my practice LSAT last night!
