Despite the late night at the bowling alley (look, he liked bowling and he'd been avoiding his room a bit and the nachos had been plentiful), Nathan was up at a fairly decent time. The sun was still out (though hidden by clouds) and everything. Sure, it was fucking cold all the sudden (where the hell had the spring weather gone?) but he hadn't ( Read more... )

Later on, Caroline returned to a Nathan-free room and washed the slobber from her face before immediately flopping on her bed with her phone to text Stefan about her encounter with Fandom's take on the werewolf.

His replies were amusingly confused, so she was smiling as she interacted with her phone, trying to remember to spell everything out since Stefan was a bit on the technologically impaired side of things.

Nathan had a bag of clothes over one shoulder and his phone still out in the other. The frown on his face was because he'd apparently done something to one of his shirts in the wash and he was trying to understand what the fuck his mum was telling him would fix it.

When he wandered into the room and realized Caroline had come back while he'd been in the wash room, he spared her a quick glance before going back to his phone and making a face at it like his mum had fucked up his shirt.

Apparently, bleach stains were nearly permanent and his mum's solution was to buy a new t-shirt. Great.

Caroline only glanced his way as Nathan entered. "Hey," she said, offering up civility to see what sort of response she got from it.

She honestly didn't expect much.

"Hey there," Nathan said, focusing on dumping his clothes on top of his bed and then tossing his phone on top of the mountain of t-shirts, jeans, socks and boxer briefs.

"Laundry day," he offered up a minute or two later. "So, I don't smell too badly. It's a bit gross and I'm not one to do gross."

Well, that was a lie but he didn't want to do smelly gross gross.
