DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS EVENTchangerofwildsAugust 24 2010, 03:36:19 UTC
Virus or Event?: Event Duration: 4-5 Description: This could also be called the Dungeon Diving event. This will be set up like the Oregon Trail Event, maybe with it's own community.
Basically, the event premise is the characters are stuck in a real life Dungeons and Dragons game. They are the characters, not the people sitting around the table. So, what does this mean? Loot! Monsters! Battling other parties for fun and profit! Getting along! Or not. Killing/protecting innocents!
Now for the details.
Characters are trapped in a fantasy setting with elves, dwarves, goblins, giant slime monsters, same old same old. Except they can't do what they normally could. If your character is a witch normally? She doesn't have her original powers; she might have a different set of spells as a warlock or a wizard but that's a different set of rules right there. Or then again, she might be trained as a warrior and be swinging a battle axe that's her height. It's all up to the player what kind of new abilities (within reason, there will be guidelines when the event is announced) their character has but they can't have their original canon powers during the event.
Characters are then grouped up into parties of adventurers (either the players choose the groups or randomly generated ones). Each group will be given an objective (retrieve an object, kill a wizard, save a maiden, etc) and the characters will try to achieve that objective. Or they get distracted by the prospect of slaughtering a random family and discover an underground dungeon in the basement. Basically, they're given an objective but they can choose whether to do it or not; though they all will have some kind of adventure whether they (IC-ly) want to do it or not. Players can choose the specifics.
Then at the end of the event they're sent back to their own worlds. Loot gone because really, do you want random characters getting and keeping mega-weapons of awesome?
Anything else: I will be willing to set this up, create layouts of dungeons, create NPCs and monsters, etc.
