Virus or Event?: E-Event? Duration: 4ish? Description: A Soul Eater virus/event/battle to the death!
Characters gain the ability to turn into a weapon of the mun's choice. This is a literal weapon - the character can turn into a knife, or a gun or a grenade launcher, whatever. Yes, they are made of metal or wood or whatever while they are transformed, but their consciousness remains and they can usually be seen as a reflection in the surface of the weapon, wearing no clothes (ref: my icon).
Weapons can often choose to turn only a part of their body into the weapon as well, such as changing their arm into a scythe blade or sprouting guns from their chest, but the actual weapon is fixed and will keep the same characteristics. If you decide that your character can turn into a sword, they can't start shooting bullets from their fingertips later.
Anyway! So characters who can turn into weapons need to be wielded. Other characters can attempt to wield them, but it requires a certain level of trust and a compatibility of personality for a meister to wield a weapon. Two very dominant characters are unlikely to be compatible because they'll both be fighting for control, but a very high-strung character would probably work well with a laid back character who has a calming effect upon them.
If a meister tries to wield a weapon they're not compatible with, it may burn their hands, or be too heavy to lift, or things like that.
Note that just because a character is a close friend or even lover of the weapon does not mean that they'll necessarily be compatible to fight together as a team! In the anime, Soul Eater Evens and Black*Star are best buddies, but Black*Star can't wield Soul Eater because neither can give way to the other on an intimate level. They're too busy posturing and trying to one-up each other, because they're silly boys. That's a great friendship dynamic, but doesn't work at all for the weapon/meister combination. Soul Eater needs the determined strength of Maka to balance his cool demeanour, and Black*Star needs someone totally submissive and kind like Tsubaki.
Some weapons don't need meisters to fight. Though it's often more convenient to have someone else, if the weapon is such that they can transform just part of their body, there's nothing that says they need to have someone pick them up and use them. In the anime only the most powerful characters can do a partial transformation, but it's up to you.
Be creative with the type of weapon they can turn into! In the anime there's one person who can turn into a lantern. The flames can not only burn people, but her meister can ride on top of her and be propelled like she's riding a rocket through the sky.
The new weapons and anyone else who wants to is brought to a large, mazelike walled city, filled with creepy monsters with clown faces and the desire to kill you and eat your soul. If you want to get out alive, band together and form pairs or run screaming and hope someone saves you. If a clown monster is killed by a weapon, that weapon can eat their twisted soul and it'll make them slightly more powerful as well as purifying the soul and allowing the innocents that clown monster has eaten to go to the afterlife. Likely Stein and other Soul Eater characters will be there to help guide the characters in what to do.
Obviously you don't have to be cooperative and kill the clown monsters. You can always go after your enemies with your newfound powers instead.
Anything else: We can do this as a simple virus if we want, where people discover that they can turn into weapons and other people try to pick them up and such. But as I was writing this up I realized that might be a bit boring, so I added the battling aspect.
We could also do it as a combination, where most people go to the city, but if someone has an idea for a way their new power can be used for something awesome (like as part of a canon move or something) they can feel free to do that.
I can run the event. Maybe we can do a separate community for it like the Jurassic Park and similar ones? Video of the happenings at the city can be posted to the community, and people can have their phones with them and post as well, during the insanity.
