In my "old age," I have gotten so sensitive to the cold, that I really, really appreciate random 65 degree days in November. Thanks, weather peeps. Now I can ride my horse without wearing 3 jackets.

I have tons of errands to run today, but it is going to be a nice, chill day. It's already been a lovely morning. After quality time with my Sonic-boy, I am going to come home, cook, bake, and watch House DVDs, because I am very addicted to that show. I feel excessively lazy today, probably due in part to the whirlwind of driving to Connecticut and back. When you have to travel, holidays really aren't that relaxing...drive up, drive to Gram's, drive back. I am still tired!

It is nice to be home, though, and I came home to an awesome surprise last night after about seven hours of driving. When someone knows you so well that they can get the exact things that will make you bounce up and down and tear up at the same time, that is pretty amazing. And it isn't so much the object - the actual gift - it's the amount of thought and caring and love that goes into listening and paying attention well enough to know what will make someone happy. That's what blows my mind, and maybe still makes me feel a little weepy when I think about it. Be quiet...I may be a bit of a tomboy, but I am still girly in that way. :)

It's been a hard few months...really, a hard year. Top to bottom, I can't think of an "easy" period of time in 2006. I am significantly happier now than I was even 6 months ago, though, and that is good. And you know what? I really think things have a way of working themselves out, if they are truly meant to be. I know the whole "love conquers all" thing is kind of corny, but I think love goes a long, long way towards making things right.

Okay, there is some dude out front of my apartment, under my balcony, with a walkie talkie. That's just odd. And loud. Perhaps it's time to put away the coffee (Freshly ground! Good lord! I'm still grinning), and get myself moving. Errands first...if I go see Sonic first, I will just find an excuse to come straight home after. :)
