Well, this is my last morning in Arlington. Finished packing last night after a hellish week where I lost most of my expected packing time to an emergency maintenance and my farrier running horribly late. There really wasn't that much stuff left to pack, at least
It's been a little awkward seeing the neighbors, who clearly have no idea what to say to me other than, "Let me know if you need some help." I actually do, I can't get the basement door open (I've always had trouble turning the key), but I don't really want to actually interact with the neighbors, so...
It's a weird feeling, seeing half the stuff unpacked, and half of it packed. It's sad to look at, actually, because I remember how excited we were when we moved in here...but now only one of us is moving out. Not at all what either of us pictured would happen.
I'm okay, though. It sucks, but I'm okay. I'm very glad I hired movers...my health is getting so poor that the idea of heavy lifting isn't a good one at this point anyway. I have never paid anyone to move me before...sounds like it's going to be a LOT better than U-Haul. I do have my car loaded up with stuff I didn't want on the truck, but it's just clothes, bedding, etc. I'm skeeved out by the idea of those on a moving van. ;)
Update on the state of my health is not great...but could be worse. Lots of testing coming up, ultrasounds, scopes, biopsies, etc. They will figure out what's up. I've lost a lot of weight, but that's what happens when you can't keep food down. Hopefully the Reglan and Prevacid will hold me over until they figure out what is wrong. It's going to be a long month of being poked and prodded. As crappy as I am feeling, I am happy that we're getting going on figuring out what the hell is wrong with me.
Something to be very excited about in the midst of this - Sonic is going to his first show on Sunday. :) I don't know if I'll actually show him, but we are taking him up to Swan Lake. I had figured we'd do a little schooling show for his first one, but rated all the way, baby. :) We'll see how he does...probably crazy! Alan will be there though, so having my trainer plus the Boylands with me will make life easier. I am pee-my-pants excited. :)
Well...hopefully I can steal wireless in the new place, because I have been so busy I haven't even gotten internet hooked up yet. WOrst comes to worst, I'll drive over to Parklawn. I'm only 3.6 miles from the office now, after all.
Wish me luck on my first move that isn't do-it-yourself. :)
