Heads up for the Trek cast, mostly, but I guess it applies to anyone who might be in or around the Enterprise in the next month.
Since, canonically, everyone from Earth in the Star Trek universe celebrates
Christmas in the winter months (I acknowledge that other alien races have
different holidays, but since they are not the majority on the ship, Jim is ... going to be racist), I wanted to make a PSA for what to expect aboard the Enterprise due to Jim's ... issues and grand-standing, and because this is the first Christmas aboard the Enterprise and everyone needs to feel the love.
1 - Christmas lights. Don't worry about where they came from, but they're lining the halls of the Enterprise both on the top and bottom of the walkways. Also, they're strung across the central console on the bridge and all on the edges of the captain's chair.
2 - Tinsel. If you're a scrooge (Bones, Spock, looking at you) then you can expect double the amount of tinsel around your work station and around the doorway to your quarters. Other than that, it's mostly surrounding doorways to main areas - mess hall, gym, sick bay, bridge, etc.
3 - Being the creative genius that he is, Jim has set it up so that Christmas music plays in the turbolift and mess. And, you're going to like it.
4 - Fake Christmas Trees. Synthetic pine needles, doused in the scent of pine air freshener, but very much synthetic. All the same, they're in the mess and in all the rec rooms and lounges, excluding Sulu's greenhouse, which gets a real tree.
That said, I'm taking suggestions for further torment.
