[Mikaela's 18th Birthday!--Saturday, September 13, 2:00 pm]
Point Dume State Beach was by no means an out-of-the-way, abandoned stretch of beach. It was popular, a hotspot for local surfers and scuba divers and a great place just to hang out and swim besides. Mikaela had been there before, more than once, and figured this was probably the emptiest she had ever seen the place--thanks to Apollo.
She surveyed the accommodations for the party, checking one last time to see if there was anything they needed before people started to show up. Tables and chairs, all clustered near the visitor's center that was the official entrance to the beach and spread in a widely-spaced arc, so the party's larger guests would be able to move among among them--check. Long banquet tables with food and drink (though no cake; that would come out later, as the sun started to go down)--check. Out past the tables, up beyond the high-tide line, a bonfire pit, for when the sun went down--check. Piles of folded, fluffy towels by the standing showers outside the visitor's center--check.
It didn't look like anything was missing--except the people, of course. Mikaela, dressed in a black and pink bikini with a sarong around her waist as a concession to decency, her hair loose around her shoulders and sunglasses to match her outfit perched on her nose, put on her best hostess smile and waited for the first guests to arrive.
((OOC: WOO PARTY TIEM. Most recent copy of the guest list is here, but this is missing people, so if I told you OOC somewhere that your character was invited and then forgot to put him/her on the list, feel free to assume they got an invite! And remember, tag-alongs and crashers are okay!
The picture in the invite to the party is an actual photo of the beach in question! I've never been there, lol, so I'm gonna say that little building just visible on the right side of the pic is the visitor's center. XD;
Feel free to post in any of the subthreads, and remember to mingle! It's a party~! I actually have kind of a busy weekend planned IRL, so I don't think I'll be able to have Mikaela respond to everyone--please don't feel like she has to greet your character(s) before they can join the fun! Conversely, if you really want her to talk to one yours somewhere, feel free to ping me--WarpedDreamer on AIM, or elsewhere~--and I'll get to it!
Finally, the Autobots from Mikaela's world (Bumblebee, Optimus, Ratchet, and Ironhide) will be present, as will Sam Witwicky, but I personally don't think I'm up to NPCing any/all of them. So feel free to say your characters met them at the party, b-but they won't actually be interacting with anyone. Sorry! ;~;
