Another great weekend

Friday night Jeff & I went to It's Italian in Wells Branch.  It was good Italian!!  A very friendly place with good food and reasonable prices!

Saturday's Team Danskin workout was an endurance bike ride out on the north part of Parmer Ln.  My job was to lead the level 1 cyclists on an 8ish mile ride.  There was one cyclist that probably should have ridden with the Level 2's because I got a good ride in staying in the lead in front of her.  Afterwards Jeff rode from home to meet me and then he and Tracy and I rode for another hour or so.  We found out that Avery Ranch Blvd is almost ready to connect to 183A.  And on the other side of 183A is a cute little neighborhood where most of the streets are named some variation of Riviera (N Riviera, S, E, W).  Then we went home and cleaned up and met Tracy/Brian/Elizabeth & Jenny/Joe for the Violet Crown Festival.  Kind of like Pecan Street Festival only much smaller.  There were arts/crafts booths, bouncy castles, 2 stages, and food.  Jeff & I shared an Amy's Ice Cream.  Yum.  Haven't had that in a while.  And then later when we were all tired we had dinner at Hunan restaurant.

Sunday I ran the Maze 10K with Tracy & Jenny/Joe.  We left Jenny/Joe behind in the first mile since the humidity was getting to her.  We had a good time.  We weren't racing it, just running along at a good pace for us.  Saw shubbe before the race.  Wondered where sweetmonster was.  We finished up with breakfast at Taco Deli.  They are much less crowded at 9:30am than at 11:30am on a Sunday!  Go figure.

To wrap up the weekend, Jeff & I saw REO Speedwagon at the Back Yard.  I don't think I'll go back there again.  I didn't think about it when I bought the tickets but an outside venue is open to smoking.  And there were so many smokers.  Our seats were lousy to begin with - way off to the left side of the stage so we could only see the front of the stage.  And we were on the end so people were standing in the aisle next to us smoking.  A group of 4 gentleman stood in front of me with their cigars held right at my face level most of the time.  We started moving around to find less smoky spots, but finally we decided to leave during the first encore.  The band wasn't that special - it didn't sound any different than I could have heard on an album.  And we probably saved ourselves a good 45 minutes in traffic by leaving early.  I always was annoyed when my dad wanted to leave early to avoid traffic when I was a kid.  I always watched fireworks finales by walking backwards to the car.  But this time it made sense.

All in all, yet another wonderful weekend.
