Saturday I ran 12 miles with Tracy, Stacey, & Jimmy, starting and finishing at Barton Springs.  We did the hills and scenes of Scenic.  This week's 12 felt better than last weeks' 10 - certainly faster.  Tracy had her Garmin set to autopause and it said we did 10:19 pace.  Most importantly, I felt strong at the end.  I got casted for orthotics this week, but they won't be in for a couple of weeks.  I tried wearing a neoprene ankle support, but after 6ish miles the top of my foot starting hurting anyway, and since the brace was starting to rub I took it off.  The pain wasn't as bad as last week.  It feels like if I could just retie my shoe it would feel better.  But of course it doesn't.

Nutritionally, I had 16 oz of Gatorade Endurance, 24 oz of water, 3 clif bloks, and 2 clif shots.  I had planned to eat at miles 4 and 8, but I screwed up and ate at 4 and 6, so then I ate again when I started getting hungry at mile 9, and it was a mocha with caffeine.  Afterwards I had 2 scoops of Endurox.  No bonking this time, but I was pretty wiped out for the rest of the day.  I think I could still do better nutritionally.

Today my quads are pretty sore.  I went for a 3 neighborhood loop bike ride.  And then to the Trizones end of season Party Barge!!  Lots of food and friends and fun.
