been quite busy the past month since i updated. we stopped in Crete for a few days, which was decent. i spent most of the time drinking jack and coke, trying to pretend i was sophisticated and above all the other folks getting trashed out of their gorge.
got a band together, we've played a few sets to the crew. its kind of neat playing for close to 5000 people. almost makes me feel like a real 'rocker'. we decided it wasnt a good idea to go with 'emo' stuff, considering the situation the ship is in right now, so we stuck to pearl jam, supafuzz, and some originals. joe, the singer, can really break it down with the vocal chords. imagine eddie vetter (spelling skills...bad) mixed with kurt cobain, minus the suicide. our other guitarist is awesome, and the bass player has been playing for like a month and bustin it like a pro. im still slowly re-learning some of the more advanced drum stuff, but i can still keep up with the uptempo.
krystal is due in less than two months. im due home in 5 months. if it wasnt for the band, id be going out of my mind.
you college folk dont know how good you have it..its like an extra 4 years of being a kid. it doesn't matter how many 'responsibilities' you may have in college, it will still never compare to the way things will change when you're out on your own. enjoy it to the absolute fullest while you can.
i got advanced recently and now im fully responsible for the actions and jobs of 43 people. i guess thats what brought on the previous paragraph.
the internet isn't up very often anymore, hit me up via email. harlowke@truman.navy.mil
