We moved to San Francisco in 1987. I was 10. We had just come from Guam, I was still free.
After living in temporary housing, we got our place.
My dad was stationed on Treasure Island. The seawall was, a place. The view of San Francisco, was obscene. Today dickherds pay fuck loads for a view like that. But we were trapped on Treasure Island, and no one now, nor then, wants that property.
Treasure Island is small. There's only 3 roads and all of them end up the same place. My school bus took us by there everyday.
There are no seals on Treasure Island. This is not Southern California. The fog, is our friend.
If you have to start out at a new school...the Treasure Island Elementary was a good place. We all lived on base, we could all walk there and, we never need to leave.
Cool aside, my elementary school had an Apple. Oregon Trail was there twice but there was another game. Aside from Jumpman at Jacqueline Burkett's on some real fancy ass, slim plastic box of a Mac, there was a math game on that computer. A fucking computer in our class in 1987 and we only turned it on 3 times.
