So I got that job at the Apple store!
I guess they didn't have enough new hires to warrant the weekend-long core training in MA so I am going in next Mon. to fill out paperwork and start training. I'm actually pretty happy I don't have to leave this weekend - next week are my last classes and I'm really going to need the time to finish up projects and papers.
I'm pretty excited. It's nice to know I'll be employed soon and it won't interfere too much with the end of the semester. I'll have to put in for Wellspring weekend off immediately but when I asked about it in my interviews I was told it should be easy for me to have that weekend off. Hooray!
Alyx and I went to a clean up party at our garden yesterday evening. Our plot is huge! Way bigger than I actually expected. I'm going to have to think about what else I want to plant there. There's also a huge amount of space underneath an apple tree that still gets bright sunlight. Some of the other gardeners were talking about using that space as a shared herb and flower garden. That'd be nice - I was thinking of growing daisies or something in the extra space in my plot anyway, but maybe I'll put them under the tree. It'd be nice to have cut flowers all summer.
The landlords have been working on their garden in the backyard this week. It's beautiful - she has a lot of early spring bulbs and all the tulips and hyacinth are blooming. It looks like she planted some marigolds and pansies too. She said that I am welcome to plant some potted flowers in our space but that I'll want to stick with shade-loving flowers, she recommends impatiens. I have those and some other little shady flower. I'm thinking of planting a little fairy garden and putting a bowl or something in it for nature spirit offerings.
I've been spending too much time playing with clay and not enough time on homework. I made up all the necessary tools recommended in
this book and have been practicing making heads. The clay is a bit too soft, though, I'll have to leech it I think. And I need to make eyes because without them it doesn't quite work properly. I am trying to exercise some self-discipline, though, and put off most of this until school is over.
Also, I found this show called Outnumbered. It's a BBC show about a family with three young kids and it's flipping hilarious. This video is what got me hooked:
