This is a wonderfully written story. It makes me think of anjenue, the way she wrote with so much insight and love of her characters, and how she could build up so much tension between them. Because of that similar style, it brings up a bit of melancholy for me, but tempered with fondness because whenever she wrote something, it was a given that it would be enjoyable to read.

Many of the phrases, especially in the descriptions of the bar scene where Tezuka sees Tannhauser for the first time were magnificent, absolutely gorgeous prose --- obviously penned by someone who knows, likes and understands how to get others to love music. Tezuka reaches the perfect notes of self-consciousness mixed with self-confidence. Oshitari is drop-dead attractive. His mauling of Tezuka in the third scene was hypnotic and steamy as hell. I honestly don't know why Tezuka didn't turn the tables on him right there and then because he was so irresistable. As for the scene with Atobe tied up to his headboard .... *swallows hard*

There is so much to enjoy in this story. It was a real pleasure to read.
