the whole travel arrangements are causing me a bit of a panic, since some things presented themselves that are making it hard for me.

do you think a lot of people are going to be there in the weekend of march 26? because i have a free week and i guess the rest of american schools do to, and it will be chaos.

second this:

i'm trying to get Good viewing tickets.

and while from experience (Wicked with original cast, Billy Elliot, Phantom of the Opera) the mezzane is good...
I'm looking into orchesta sitting area (which i'm aware cost a pretty penny, but i have tips and other savings and I was allowed to choose something special for b-day this year, it's a once in a lifetime sort of thing so...)

Anyway- orchestra area.
the middle seemed the best for me. but what I want know from where you go is...
is the first half of the orchestra area or the second half of the orchestra area a better place?
the first half seems to me too close to the stage, as in your looking at them from the feet up looking like gants sitting there as opposed to normal viewing in the middle.

third, i don't trust the getting the tickets by phone very much because i can't get a guarantee.
so i'm probably going to buy them from the offical website,
question, do they send them to you by post? or they send you a copy upon purchasing them online and you print it and that's your ticket?
thanks

Are you planning to see the show more than one time on your trip? I ask because March 27th is the official opening of the show and they aren't selling tickets to the public at all yet for that date. They will eventually (probably), but you want be able to count on it, or to count on much seat choice by that point. As for crowd in general, I doubt that it being a school break then will have much impact. I do expect it will be a full house to see that show at most performances for at least the first couple months because musicals are always very popular and this particular musical has the draw of two well-known actors in the cast, plus Anderson Cooper doing the narration. There were be a huge crowd of fans outside the theatre for EVERY show because of Dan ... that is an absolute certainty, so you need to expect a little bit of chaos no matter when you go. But it's usually fairly well controlled chaos.

As to seating choice, I have not been inside this particular theatre yet, so it's hard to answer your question at the moment. I know what you mean about stage height and sitting too close because I've been in some that were that way. For Equus, I saw it enough times to have been in pretty much every part of the theatre and my favorites were front row of the center orchestra (or at least one of the up close rows) or the center of stage seats, but I saw Wicked and there is no way I'd have sat that close for that show. I'm sure I'll put up a post here after seeing the show, so just comment on it (or this again) and remind me to let you know how it was from 3rd row or if you may want to be farther back. I'll be able to give you a better answer once I've been in the theatre once.

When you order your tickets, whether by phone or by email, the standard ticket delivery method is that they email them to you and you print them out. I think there is an option if you prefer to have tickets mailed to you or if you prefer to pick them up at the box office upon arrival, but those may have an added cost. I would NOT recommend having them mailed now for a March show because any sort of delay in mail delivery might result in you not getting them in time. I've always used the emailed tickets myself and have never had any difficulty with them.

Just one other note that may be of interest since you mentioned school ... the show announced on their Twitter yesterday that they will be selling a limited number of tickets for each show on the day of the show at the box office beginning at 10:00 am for just $30. Granted those won't be the best seats, but it might be a way to see it an extra time at a great price if you'll be in town longer than for just one show. A friend of mine thinks these rush tickets are only for students, so take you student ID just in case, but I personally think they are for anyone, just first come first served.
