A List of Things College Has Taught Me/Reinforced:

Feb 06, 2007 22:38

• Always remember to turn on your alarm.

• Surprisingly, the morning doesn’t have to start with a shower.

• Breakfast isn’t always necessary. However, it is always appreciated.

• You can’t skip the classes you hate; you can skip the classes you love, but of course you don’t want to.

• You don’t actually have to do all your homework (except, you totally do!).

• Reading is optional.

• Sometimes, having a roommate you get along ridiculously well with is not necessarily a good thing (e.g. when you both stay up way too late talking about absolutely nothing important [not that it's not fun!]).

• If the weather in your home town is basically constant 365 days a year, remember that this is an exception rather than a rule. Weather is fickle. It is therefore important to have a wardrobe that is varied and versatile.

• If you’re going to go through all the bother of shaving your legs, remember to make sure you didn’t leave all your leg-revealing garments at home before you get in the shower.

• Some people should never be allowed to speak. Ever.

• Professors don’t know everything. However, they probably do know more about their subject than you do.

• Remember: Thinking is free.

• Even if you “don’t watch much TV” and don’t have time for the activity, always set aside a couple hours a day to do so.

• Tivo is a devil in disguise!

• Eating is done in spurts. Carbs are a dietary staple. Gaining weight is a part of life. Embrace it.

• It’s never too late to eat out/eat junk food.

• Running is of the devil.

But of course, The Most Important Thing College Has Taught Me/Reinforced:

• You’re never too old to pretend you’re a dinosaur!
