So I was machine sewing a swathe of buttons onto my 1920s plus fours (more on these probably this week!), and I wondered to myself (as one normally does).
I wonder, can I sew sequins on using my machine? So like anyone that hates to handsew (with good reason, my athritic hands start to hurt before long), I thought I would try it. My test worked!! So I'm going to machine sew on my sequins, rather than the gruelling slog handsewing, or the more dodgy gluing.
I am going to do some more tests before I decide on precisely the technique that I will use.
I would like this dress to be done (wings and all) before mid April. Given the amount of binding I'm going to need to handsew, I forsee many a lunch hour handsewing. Oh well, it stops me from going shopping I guess!! Even if it isn't done, I figure I can wear it for the Steampunk Ball in June, which I gather I have just decided I will go to. haha.
Anyway, back to work!!
