We have ourselves a May Movie for 2011.

If you have complaints to make, you may make them now, but you must realize that a) there is no negotiating with THE MAY MOVIE, and b) dude, you have a year plus at this point in which this could easily not happen, so chillax. (That's what I hear the kids are saying these days. The cool ones. That don't ( Read more... )

I'm definitely up for the May Movie this year. Next year? I don't know. Probably, but I'm wary of that one. We'll see what the first trailers look like, when they eventually arrive. :)

We'll see how it goes. I think trailers will be very important for this one. However, it has the right date, and that's what matters.

I'm not going to argue with you.

This is wise. :)

I'm sure I'll find somebody who'll go with. And, like I said, it's entirely possible that it won't even be the movie if it changes its date.

I hope it doesn't - I'm looking forward to it. It could be a monumental failure, of course, but I'm looking forward to watching them try.

I like movies about Gods. This one? Is about a God that is also a superhero. I don't see any reason not to see it.

I'm not too excited, but it'll probably be better than Van Helsing.

At this point, I'd have a hard time imagining the major release movie that they could release that wouldn't be better than Van Helsing. Transformers 2 might have been bad, but it didn't literally make me feel humiliated for everyone in the movie (characters and actors) and too uncomfortable at parts to even look at the screen. So, uh, it had that going for it.

Come on, this is a fun chance to see Hollywood ruin the representation of yet another system of beliefs! That Marvel already ruined! :P

Star Trek 2 hits screens on May 29th, 2012. Too late for your May Movie, but a May movie nonetheless.

It makes me uneasy when they stake out release dates without scripts.

Such fear is not unwarranted, but I imagine the number of movies they've done that for is far higher than you'd expect, and even then, many scripts (like that T4 article I linked) end up getting rewritten during filming anyway.

My impression that setting a date indicates they've cracked the story, and are currently banging that outline into a screenplay.
