Not really a YEAR in review

I don't do the year-in-review memes so much. This is more my own tally of new-to-me pieces of entertainment consumed.

I see that I managed to outdo myself on the number of movies seen this year versus last year. I've seen 50% more movies in 2007 than I did in 2006 (120 versus 81). 120! Crazy! Television seasons completed, despite there being fewer ( Read more... )

I love that your LJ tags act as a kind of summary of this entire post :) I really want to check out MI5/Spooks one of these days.

I know, right? I had to keep adding to the tags as I went along.

Spooks is hands-down thrilling television. Great action, good characterization, fun, smart, and savvy. It's nice that they don't operate under an "us against them" policy--there's a real sense of intelligence operations being more a network than lone offices working against others. The globalization effect is at full force; you just don't get that kind of integrated look at politics of terrorism and security from half-assed attempts in American TV and movies.
