Ficlet: The Man Who Rose From Earth

You guys are awesome. Yesterday's conversation was (and still is!) fascinating reading, and it's already given me a bunch of new fic ideas, which I can't say I really need right now. ;-) But, y'know, I'm kind of compulsive about the writing, so here's one, based a little off something natroga said about what would make John happy ( Read more... )

Waaah! Why is it that this whole making-Sheppard-happy issue keeps making me sniffly all the damn time?

Beautiful. Sad. Lonely. Like a cool autumn breeze.

John is angst-free, huzzah *g*. Let's just ignore the whole of the rest of Atlantis.

That was beautiful. Poor, poor Rodney. I mean, they're all sorry, but Rodney's practically broken.

Yet again you break John in new and innovative ways :)

I used to write crack comedy. Remember that? That was nice.

This is nice. If only you aren't Rodney. Or like him. Or love him. *sobs*

But I get the whole thing though. Not long ago ringspells asked me what my favourite type of badfic was, to which I promptly answered: WINGFIC!! (because, duh!) and she asked why and well, I went into a rant that lasted 40 minutes, but now I'll just point to this and say: "That's why. Just try imagining it with a happy happier ending. And sex. Lots and lots of sex"

She'll get it.

I'm actually tempted to write the crack happy ending with lots of gratuitous sex. But would that destroy my artistic integrity? *ponders*

Screw artistic integrity. It would make me feel better.

I'd have to say, most emphatically NO. Do you not see how loads of porn, furthermore, with the inclusion (both in plot as in act) of wings, would grant you artistic renown to the likes of Da Vinci, or Miguel Angel?

or, you know, your average "winz at life" award. But it's practically the same right?
