What does it say about me that not only am I brimming over with love for where you took that idea in the end, but also for the fact that you have young Rodney reading Jane Austen? Because that fills me with glee to an insane and scary amount.

Ooooh, I loved this! I really liked how Rodney used to be *polite* but learned to be snarky as a stress relief. *g* That man will outlive us all!

McKay/Sheppard part was sweet and the ending was just lovely. Also John didn't call him McLay. :)

Thank you; I figured good snark is made, not born. *g*

Also John didn't call him McLay.

I'm saving that for the next fic. ;-)

Oh, Rodney. I'm not sure how much I believe that Rodney was ever polite and retiring ;) but I love the way he evolves here. And how appropriate that the first time he really snaps is over his science. Yes.

I almost had the summary read, "an alternate history of Rodney McKay," but yeah. It's an interesting theory, anyway. *g*

Also, you know John's really been giving blowjobs left and right. ;-)

No! John is pure and virginal! *g* Or something.

Yes, I like the theory. And it is intriguing. I think it's more that Rodney reminds me of, well, me, and other people I know, and that kind of pattern seems to show up - that the person is just always very straightforward and open and ends up being rude as much because they suck at prevaricating as for any other reason *g*.

Anyway, I like it. And the story. And suchlike. I suck at words today.
