Also, this?
Rodney has his own scrapbook, a private one. His own collection of clippings, the ones that declare him an unparalleled genius in his chosen field (the field he chose); the ones that have caught them, maybe, in a candid moment: Ronon smiling at something just out of sight, Teyla’s head on his shoulder; and John, for once facing away from the camera, his hands in his pockets, staring out at the ocean.
So perfect, and so very, very Rodney. He'd need that, need to map it all out, to know what was real. All of this is so Rodney, so John. The sex is gorgeously written, and the footnotes with the album pimping are hilarious. I love this even more than I expected to, which is really saying something.
My writer envy is almost equal to my love for this. *sigh* Have I mentioned lately how much you rule? Because, yeah.

I started this thinking it would be a cute, fun story, which it is, but it's so much more than that too. I love the way you weaved in the things from the show, John firing Sumner, Ford ended up with The Lost Boys. And even though this is a very different career than the one John ends up with in the show, I feel like you really captured the way I see him, with all his presence and charm and the way he kind of manipulates things to get his way, though without any real malice.
Hee. In summary, I love it! ☺
This was my favorite line:
Someone was running a sprinkler, late at night, water skish skishing across the sunburnt grass. Rodney stepped into the gutter, avoiding the spray; John walked right through.

Yeah, I don't think he even knows he's doing it sometimes anymore. Oh, John.
Thanks so much; I'm really glad you liked it! And wow, your icon is gorgeous.
