before the cruise
okay, tough week
monday my class was being audited (my boss sits in and grades us) so its was a big deal. Sunday night i taped myself doing the lessons so i could play it in the car on the way to class to make sure i really knew...good planning huh? I was so prepared, with the right outfit, food, witty interjections and examples...monday morning i am psyched. I get into my car, slam my door and it bounces right back out...i'm like wtf!!!!! but not really the f-word, but i almost said it....again. my door hadn't been closing properly in a while but this time it wouldnt latch shut at all. After slamming it a dozen times i got it closed enough to run mike to school and the mechanic down the rd. Yup, it took up my whole all morning, while i was there i told him about the squeeky noises it was also making for a while and low and behold my belt was nearly coming off. I had to call off work, which just looks bad and paid a very expensive repair bill i almost couldnt afford.
Before the car door thing, when i first woke up my throat was sore, i thought no big deal, drank some water, it went away except some pain in my mouth, way in the back. Well, Tues morning the pain was much worse and i could barely open my mouth, it was very swollen and red inside. I went to work and left early for a doctors appt. The MD thinks its strep, gave me some antibiotics and says i cant return to work until my temp has been gone for 24 hrs (it was 101 at her office). So today i rested, packed for the trip, got organized, and still ran a fever and was in pain...so....another sick tomorrow! Friday is going to kill me, my boss is going to kill me...oh well, it cant be helped and they can't fire me with documentation ( i have paid sick days, vacation days, personal days, holidays =) I plan on putting in my two week notice when i return from vacation the 25.
So i work Friday, leave Sat. for my aunts house in wellington which is 5 mins away from Vanessa...I AM SO PSYCHED ABOUT SEEING HER!! She's really excited too, she's been asking me to visit for a while now...its been too long. So Sat. night its all about us chilin together in Miami. Sunday morning we ship out.
Cruise Schedule:
Mon.-Fun day at sea (AVOID DRINKING BUT HAVE A BLAST!)
Tues.-Grand Cayman (snorkling and beach/water stuff)7-4
Wed.-Isla Roatan Honduras (volunteering at the CSI orphanage) 11-6
Thurs.- Belize (Zip Line and Cave Tubbing) 8-5
Fri.- Costa Maya Mexico- (sight see mayan ruins, travel to towns) 8-5
Sat.- Fun day at sea (work on homework lol)
We've bought some stuff to donate, and people from my work have given me a little money and said they would bring in some items, so we'll see. My father is....ugh, he bought some notebooks that were on sale, since he is complusive like that, and i said i didnt need them but it would be great to donate and he asked for them back....50 CENT NOTEBOOKS! Not only that, he wanted them back then turned around and asked mike if he knew anyone that he could GIVE them to. CRAZY !!!
We are meeting another mother and daughter on the cruise that's also going to CSI and brining donations, we've been corresponding via email for a couple weeks and hope to become good friends while on board ;)
i'm taking the video camera which is awesome! and lots of pics, should be great! hope i get over this strep throat asap and transition into another job after i quite this one....it is going salary, and there are too many issues going on in with that job. If God wants me there I'll stay, but if He closes that door, I know he'll open another.
I still really miss my gals in P'cola!! I'll be moving up there this winter.
