Boycott Hilton UPDATED

Jul 30, 2007 18:38

I recently came back from a trip to Tampa. I, stupidly, stayed at a Hampton Inn & Suites, owned by Hilton. The whole time we were there, we were asked atleast on SIX different occasions when we would be checking out... the day that we got there. At checkout, we split th bill between two cards ( two rooms originally reserved under just mine) and that as that.

WRONG!

The next week, I check my cc activity and to my surprise what should be a bill of $233.76 turned into $500! I contacted the hotel and spoke to a gentleman who soon assured me that everything would be taken care of (reduced room rate and egregious credit card charges refunded equaling $276.56.) They realized they had put too many of the room charges on the reservation cc and not split between that and the one used at checkout.

Silly me, I assumed the problem was solved.

This week, I checked my cc activity yet again to find that only $22.40 had been credited (no typo, just twenty-two dollars and forty cents). I have since been on the phone three times today with these people who have no idea what I'm talking about. There is no other cc on record regarding the stay (where did it go, it was there last week?), the room rate has been bumped up again to the incorrect amount and no one can find their head from their (elbow)! They didn't even know how much they had charged me initially!

BOYCOTT HILTON! They are cc scam artists... and now you wonder where Paris gets all her money from: Regular people like you and me who get duped out of their money from the robber-baron hotels. Hilton = scam artist! They're stealing $254.16 from me, how much from you?

UPDATE: They are refunding an additional $116.88, leaving a deficit of $137.28. I will be writing Hilton Customer Service a nasty-gram informing them of my extreme displeasure and demanding ALL of my money back, as stated on the website "If you're not 100% satisfied, we don't expect you to pay. That's our promise and your guarantee. That's 100% Hampton.™" source
