The sound of the violin music made Megumi pause as she put her hand on the gate of Wataru’s home. The music was beautiful and entrancing and she paused. “How beautiful…” She murmured. “I wonder if he was trained…”

As she listened, the music seemed to lure her closer and she walked slowly to the door, remembering her “mission” from Nago to watch Wataru. She would enjoy this, if only because Wataru seemed to be better company.

Wataru was a bit strange, yes, but he had a cute charm and honesty about him. She liked him.

She wasn’t sure about it, but if she didn’t know any better, she would suspect she was falling for him. It was an almost silly notion, but it was enough to make her wonder as she walked closer to the door. It was almost as it the music was luring her in, but that wasn’t the only thing drawing her to him.

A moment or two later, she walked to the door and knocked three times.

The music stopped and she could hear him coming. “Oh… Megumi!” He cried as he opened the door. “You came. I’m surprised.”

“Oh, are you?” She smiled. “Your home is nice. What are you making?”

“I make and repair violins.” Wataru replied. “So, ah, the house is a bit…” He hated to admit the place smelled.

“I can tell.” Megumi said. “May I come in?”

Wataru’s eyes widened and he gave her another cute smile. “Please…” He moved away and let her in.

“Wataru, have you been classically trained with your violin playing?” Megumi asked as Wataru lead her to the atrium upstairs. “Your music is beautiful… almost entrancing.”

He turned red. “Oh, thank you…”

“Would you…” She paused and gave him a shy grin. “…mind playing it again for me?”

He led her to the atrium and gestured for her to have a seat on the couch. “Wait here for a moment.” He went back downstairs and retrieved the Bloody Rose from its case before returning to her.

He met her eyes for half a second before he placed the bow to the strings and began to play again.

The music was incredibly beautiful as Wataru began to play, the music coming from someplace deep within him. He had grown to enjoy her company… and it made him so incredibly happy to play for her.

Megumi smiled as she listened, closing her eyes as he played. He was incredibly skilled, wonderful. The more she listened, the more she seemed to be pulled in to him. As the music played more, she found herself standing and moving to him, almost pulled in.

Once she was in font of him, he stopped, almost dropping the Bloody Rose.

“Megumi…” He murmured, praying that his Fangire side would not show. Not now… not when she was so close!

“Wataru…” Her voice was breathless. She stood on her toes and kissed him then. He wanted to push her from him, so she would not see, but he pulled her ever closer to him.

Kivat watched the scene semi-amused. “Oh, Wataru…” He mused. “Let’s hope your mother’s blood does not show now...”

Megumi pulled away, her lips still close to him. “Wataru, I…” She giggled. “The music in you is beautiful.”

“So is yours.” He whispered. “It inspired me. It was like a siren’s song calling for me. I… I wanted to put it to music… I’m so glad you loved it.”

“Of course.” She murmured. “Why wouldn’t I?”

“I’ve never played for anyone but you, Megumi.” He murmured. “And I will always save the mot beautiful songs for you.”

She kissed him again and rested her head against his chest. “I… I like that.” She closed her eyes and sighed.

Wataru couldn’t help his grin. Finally, for the first time, he felt truly, completely and totally alive and he was going to like it.
