Summary: The eight Fujimori children celebrate Father's Day with their father.
Father's Day was a special day for Fujimori Jiro. Once, he'd disliked the holiday because it reminded him of the loss of his family, but now that he had Yuri and their eight beautiful children, it had become, like just about every holiday, a day of happy celebration.
...and it usually began in the same way.
Jiro was jolted awake by the sounds of shouting, the smell of coffee and the realization that eight bodies were practically piled up on top of him, all yelling at the same time. The general chaos left Jiro very nearly disoriented until he heard Yuri's voice above the din of noise, smell and light.
"All right, all right! Get off your father before you suffocate him!"
"Happy Father's day!" He heard the general shout and then, all eight of his children, four sons and four daughters, scrambled off him only for him to see Yuri standing in the doorway with a tray of coffee, rare steak and eggs. She rolled her eyes.
"Good morning." Yuri said as she placed the tray in Jiro's lap. "Happy Father's Day."
Jiro beamed. It was, by far, his favorite breakfast, especially the steak. "Darling, you didn't have to."
"Yes, I did." Yuri kissed Jiro lightly, to the delight of their giggling daughters. "Because you don't want to see what Takeshi dragged home and suggested I cook you for breakfast."
There was then a mad scramble as the kids left and then came back into the room with eight brightly colored presents and a ninth from Yuri herself. Jiro was sipping his coffee and smiling at this scene. He took a moment to survey his eight pups, as he liked to think of them. There was Megumi, the eldest, a smart, lovely girl, Mitsuhide, the oldest son, a bit of an odd duck (he liked to dress in men's kimonos all the time when he wasn't in a school uniform), Satoru, the splitting image of Jiro, Akane and Tsumeko, twin girls and the splitting image of their mother, although at the moment, Tsumeko was going through her gothic dress phase, Takeshi, an otaku who hid behind his long hair and glasses, Tatsuya, who was shy and very smart, and the youngest, Tsukiyomi, who was best described as being "clever". At their bright faces and eager smiles, Jiro couldn't help the swell of emotions in his heart.
"Presents for me?" Jiro took a bite of his streak. "Which one do I open first?"
"MINE!" Came the general chorus and Jiro had to protect his coffee from the onslaught.
"Careful, careful! Not my coffee!"
"He opens MINE first." Yuri announced, picking up the box from the tray and handing it to him.
Jiro smiled and unwrapped his wife's gift. Inside was a jewelry box and inside said box was a very beautiful watch. Jiro smiled at this gift, only for his smile to grow wider when he turned the watch over and it said "Jiro & Yuri, December 14, 1987"
"I hope it fits with your wardrobe." Yuri murmured with a sweet smile.
"It's perfect." Jiro waved her over for another warm kiss and a general "awww" from their kids. "Now... kids, ONE at a time, please."
By the time it was all said and done, he had a new leather jacket, new silk shirts, a photo scrapbook, some books, a new pair of sunglasses and, his favorite, a tenth present, a beautifully done family portrait that Akane had managed to get her boyfriend, Masao, an artist, to do for her. Jiro felt very spoiled by the end of it all. He was also very happy. "You didn't have to get me all these presents." Jiro had finished his eggs and was curled up beside Yuri in bed as their kids gathered around. He tosuled Tsumeko's hair. "I feel spoiled and loved."
"That's because we love you, Daddy." Tsumeko said. "We want you to have happy Father's Days."
"Every single day I'm with you kids, I'm having a Happy Father's Day." Jiro smiled. "I love you all."
"And we love you, Dad." Satoru said as there was another dogpile of hugs and kisses and general affection.
For Jiro, for a very long time, it would be the best father's day ever.
